Since the launch of the iPhone 1.1.1 firmware, a brand new method exists to SIM unlock your mobile. It does not require any linux command line anymore. Here is how to proceed:
Put the original AT&T SIM cardin your iPhone
If you have already unlocked you iPhone, you need to revirginize it, ie. make it in the same state than the day you purchased it! Closely follow the instructions provided there
Restore with iTunes 7.4.2: Now, after the reboot, the iPhone is not activated yet.
Dial the following number on your phone: *#307# and tap CALL. The iPhone is going to ring, tap HOLD.
Now delete what you dial and press 0 then CALL. The iPhone is going to ring, tap on DECLINE. This put your iPhone in a special mode and CONTACTS is now available. Note that, from now on, if at any moment your iPhone returns in not activated mode, you simply have to redo the two previous operation (the two dials) and resume the next operation.
Add a new contact -- whatever name you want to give -- and add two new URLs: the first is: prefs://1F (enter exactly this). The second one is: http://jailbreakme.com
Now click on prefs://1F which enables you to select your preferred WIFI network. Enter your WIFI settings. Once done, get to settings|general and turn AUTOLOCK mode to NEVER.
Now click on http://jailbreakme.com. Safari opens the AppSnapp web site. Click on Install AppSnapp and follow the instructions.
Once AppSnapp is completed, you've got a new app: Installer. Click on it to install additional modules.
Install BSD subsystem
Add a new Source - click sources, then add and type rep.frenchiphone.com for Install to find the anySIM 1.1p application
Install anySIM. Your iPhone is now Sim unlocked. Put your own SIM instead of the original AT&T's SIM.
